MUGUMYA Jackson is a Senior Associate of Stabit Advocates. He holds a Bachelor of Law Honors degree (LLB) from University of Rwanda and a Master’s degree in Intellectual Property from the Africa University. He also holds a postgraduate diploma from the Institute of Legal Practice and is a Licensed Advocate and Mediator of the High Court of Rwanda.
He has worked as a Legal Advisor in different institutions both domestic and international, he started work as a company secretary of junior chamber international club-Rwanda and later worked as a Legal Officer at Fountain Advocates, a law firm based in Kigali. He is licensed to practice law in Rwanda as an advocate, Mediator and legal consultant with vast experience in Company, banking and finance, Contract, Insurance, tax, labour and Intellectual Property law. He served as an Associate at Premier Law chambers. He has also undertaken several professional trainings and short courses in law related matters (Customs matters at World Customs Organization Trade Agreements, contract drafting and management, corporate governance and sustainable development, Human Rights and peace building, rule of law, fraud detection and prevention among others). He is a Member of Rwanda Bar Association, East African Law society and the YALI NETWORK Bureau of International Information Programs U.S. Department of state.
In his everyday practice, Jackson has specialized expertise in intellectual property law, commercial, conveyancing, property law and litigation. He has broad and extensive experience in perfection of bank securities (debentures, charges, chattels mortgages etc.), conveyancing, labor law, immigration, mergers and acquisitions, and intellectual property.
